I used to wonder how businesses can “get it so wrong.” How they could be this close to the “right answer,” the expression by which customers would light up with joy and fervor for whatever it is the business is doing.
No longer do I have this wonder.
As it is in our personal lives, the closer we are to the problem the harder it is to see. I’ve been running Baronfig for nearly fifteen years—there’s no one closer than me. I am, simultaneously, the best and worst person to figure out what Baronfig truly is.
Over the years, countless customers, employees, and even friends have come to me with their opinions of where I should take Baronfig. How I should shape it. While it hasn’t all been good advice, looking back I realize there were notes of truth amidst the many voices singing their ideas.
It took a solitary retreat—myself, alone for two weeks—to see things more clearly.
So, today, I present to you the next version of Baronfig. At the core it’s the same we’ve always been: tools for thinkers, with equal doses of obsession for quality and good ideas. But with a sharper understanding of exactly who we are and what we do:
Baronfig is a creative studio. We make tools for thinkers. Our experiments are called editions. And we explore ideas through projects. You can see this expression in our navigation. Right now, you can dive into each part of our studio and see for yourself how these basic principles manifest.
We hope you like what we’ve made. If you have thoughts you’d like to share, we’d love to hear them. Just click the feedback link in the footer. Don’t hold back (we can take it).
For now, I leave you with something old, something new.
